It appears that Windows 8 and above, do not allow AdjProg and some other utilities to work (even in compatibility mode) unless the utility was written for newer operating system versions.
At present, this is not 100% confirmed and further research is required but it is likely the problem is caused by the way drivers are written for Windows 8, 10, 11 etc..
The only workarounds available (at time of writing) are the following:
- Use an older version of Windows to complete the reset
- Install WICReset utility and once you have confirmed it can read your waste counter, purchase a key to reset
