Stress Buster! – 5/5

"For years I have struggled with an R2880 suffering from blocked heads. I tried two different CIS from two different manufacturers and nothing I did would resolve the issue. I even tried printing a photo image every morning and every afternoon to keep the heads in use.

Particularly frustrating was when after spending ages clearing the heads I would just start a new print job for a client when one or more 'replace cartridge' lights would come on, I would reset the chips, the printer would go through an automatic head clean, blocking the heads in the process, and start the same cycle all over again!

ARGHHH!

I was all for throwing the printer out because I assumed that as both CIS came from 'big names' and they were designed specifically for the R2880 it must be the printer, and quite frankly, I had had enough of the stress I went through every time I needed to print something, especially for a client with a deadline.

The problem with me however is I hate throwing things away and when I came across this 'Refill Kit Bundle' I dithered a bit but then decided to take a gamble. A replacement printer would be much more than the cost of this kit so if it worked I would be very happy, if it didn't I would be not quite so happy but hey, what is life without taking a gamble now and then?! In addition, I have been using a 'Printer Potty' for some time and as that had been working so well there was a degree of confidence in OctoInkjet.

I am SO glad I did. After removing all traces of the CIS currently installed in the printer I filled and loaded the new cartridges. I had to go through several head cleans to clear out the old ink but was very pleased to have test prints with no gaps. But would it last?

After a couple of days test prints were still coming out perfectly so I decided to create some paper profiles. The papers varied from high gloss to lustre to matte and the prints created using my new profiles were spot on.

I have now been using this kit for several weeks. I have had periods of intensive printing and periods where all I do is switch the printer on at the start of the day and off at night.

No blocked heads...not one.

I am over the moon with this kit and can't recommend it highly enough. It really has been the most effective stress buster I have ever bought!!"
